Independent Examiners
David Short is an Associate Professor and the BArch Course Director at the University of Nottingham. Both a practitioner and academic his work stretches across the theoretical and the practical. In 2017 he received the University of Nottingham’s prestigious Lord Dearing Award that recognises excellence in teaching. David Short has also been Director of the Part 3 Professional Studies Course at Nottingham and has taught across the MArch Part 2 course.
He has acted as a guest critic at the architecture schools at Bath and Limerick Universities and has just complete four years as External Examiner to the BSc course at the Welsh School of Architecture. He has also previously acted as an external examiner to the Part 3 course at Kingston University and has been a member of the Association of Professional Studies Advisors Association (APSAA).
Academically his interests lie in extending the pedagogy of the design process through the acts of speculative drawing and speculative making. His architectural work has been exhibited at the RIBA, Royal West of England Academy and the London Design Centre.
