In March 2020 the Board commissioned an independent review of ARB’s investigatory procedures. That review recommended changes to ARB’s Investigations and Professional Conduct Committee Rules (the Rules) and supporting guidance.

Following those recommendations we proposed changes to the Rules and two key, associated guidance documents: the Acceptance Criteria and Sanctions Guidance. At its meeting in September 2021, the Board agreed to a public consultation on the proposed changes and this took place between 23 September and 20 December 2021.

At its meeting in February 2022, the Board reviewed the outcome of the public consultation, along with revised versions of the Rules and guidance documents. It agreed the content of those drafts, with a final implementation date of 1st April 2022. The final documents can be found below.

You can read a full summary of the outcome of the consultation in the February 2022 Board papers.
