Chris qualified as an architect in 1986, having studied at PCL and Plymouth. Since 2008 he has run his own practice in Bristol, Askew Cavanna Architects, working largely with charity and community clients. Prior to this he spent eight years with Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios as Practice Manager and Partner. He previously worked as a job running architect working on a wide range of projects and contract types.
Chris has been involved in education for a good many years. He has examined Part III Architecture at a number of Universities since 1996, and was a course leader at Birmingham City University from 2009-2011. More recently he has been a visiting critic for Part I course at Nottingham and a part-time tutor for the Part III course at the Bartlett.
He is a former branch chair for Bristol and Bath RIBA, and is a trustee of the Architecture Centre in Bristol.
