Table of Prosecutions

Publicising prosecutions for misuse of the title “architect”

Only people who are registered with ARB can legally call themselves an architect, and we have the power to prosecute those who use the title when they have no right.

The following tables give details of the prosecutions we have brought against unregistered individuals using the title “architect” since 1997.  We aim to be proportionate in our actions and consider it to be against the principles of natural justice for all case details to be publicised indefinitely.  For this reason we publicise the names of individuals or businesses who were fined for 2 years from the date of their conviction.  Details are given for those who received a conditional discharge, or who were bound over, for 1 year from the date of their conviction.

The Spent table lists only the details of the magistrates’ court where the case was heard, what penalty was imposed and what costs were awarded.
