Stuart has over 20 years’ experience working with complex design projects in the UK and in Europe. Latterly he was a partner with Simpson Haugh architects in London. He has considerable knowledge of lottery-funded cultural projects where the priorities have included resolving the sometimes conflicting needs of multiple stakeholders and where the design process has encompassed challenging functional demands, budgets and timescales.
He combines professional practice with studying art and architectural history. After completing a Master’s degree in Art History at Birkbeck College in 2018 he pursued research interests around modernist representations of cities and urban design theories in Britain during the 20th Century. He studied architecture at Bath University and at the Bartlett and has a post-graduate management degree from Imperial College.
