Neil is a solicitor. He qualified in 1991 and spent many years as a criminal lawyer working as a senior specialist prosecutor in CPS’s Special Crime and Counter-Terrorism Division.
Since 2016, Neil has undertaken a variety of chairing and/or legal advisor roles for various regulators.
At present, in addition to his work with ARB, he works as a Legally Qualified Chair (‘LQC’) and Legal Advisor at the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service, as well as LQC and/ or Legal Advisor to Police Misconduct Hearings in three police regions. He is also a fee-paid judge in the FTT Social Entitlement Chamber.
