Andrew Claiborne

ARB Examiner

Andrew is a consultant and expert witness on matters relating to design and heritage within the built environment, a Design Council CABE Built Environment Expert and in addition to examining for the Architects Registration Board, he is also an external examiner for the Professional Practice – Part 3 course at Westminster University.

From his initial trade working in the UK and aboard as a carpenter and joiner, Andrew has been teaching architecture and working within the built environment for over 40 years, including the post as Head of the School of Architecture at Anglia Ruskin University.

He is a registered architect and chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. Andrew’s professional interests include the appreciation of design quality in architecture, urban design and historic building conservation, providing presentations to various local authorities and interest groups. He is a Fellow of the Forum for the Built Environment (FBE). Andrew’s consultancy work covers public and local planning inquiries for private and corporate clients together with local authorities, where he acts as an expert witness.
