Registering with Irish Qualifications from 1 January 2021
ARB and the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) have signed a memorandum of understanding which became effective from 1 January 2021. The memorandum states that the both parties will agree to recognise appropriate UK and Irish qualifications for the purposes of registration until any new UK-EU mutual recognition agreement is implemented.
The memorandum of understanding was considered and approved by the RIAI’s Board on 16 December and by ARB’s Board on 17 December 2020. The signed memorandum is available to view here.
If you obtained your qualifications in Ireland and have not previously registered as an architect in the United Kingdom you can apply for registration using our online portal.
Applying for registration online is both quick and secure, and can be done at a time and place that is most convenient for you.
You do not have to complete your application form in one sitting. As you progress through each step, the information you provide will be saved automatically so you can log out of the portal and log in again later to continue working on your application. Your application will only be submitted to us once you have completed it in full and your payment transaction has been completed.
