Architects play a crucial role in our society, designing the buildings and environments where we live and work. The Architects Registration Board (ARB) is the professional regulator of architects. We maintain a Register to protect the public, so that anyone using an architect’s services, or having a building designed by an architect, can be reassured that the design has been developed by an appropriate expert.
ARB has a newly created and exciting opportunity for a committed and experienced Management Accountant who will support the Director of Finance and Resources by maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring all financial and compliance requirements are met. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ambitious to join our friendly and professional corporate team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of ARB’s finance activities, facilitating the annual external audit as well as any internal audit assignments, and ensuring that ARB’s financial statements and other accounting records are compliant. You will maintain accurate financial records, process payments to our suppliers, manage payroll, maintain and balance ledgers, reconcile bank accounts, and support the preparation of financial schedules in line with sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures.
You will hold or be working towards a CCAB (ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, ICAS and Chartered Accountants Ireland), have demonstrable experience of working in a finance environment, including preparing management accounts, cash flow forecasts, banking reconciliations and supporting budget preparation. It is essential that you have an excellent understanding of financial accounting standards along with experience of managing and handling confidential and sensitive information professionally and in accordance with GDPR. You will also be an excellent communicator with the ability to a take a flexible, adaptable approach and respond to shifting priorities. Whilst not essential, it would be beneficial for you to have knowledge of the Governments Finance Reporting Manual (FReM), the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and experience in preparing and executing a payroll.
