Marylebone, London W1W – currently working remotely during Covid-19 restrictions, returning to the office when able
Architects play a crucial role in our society, designing the buildings and environments where we live and work. The Architects Registration Board (ARB) is the professional regulator of architects. We maintain a Register to protect the public, so that anyone using an architect’s services, or a building designed by an architect, can be reassured that the design has been developed by an appropriate expert.
ARB has a newly created and exciting opportunity for an ambitious, experienced Governance Manager who will support the Director of Finance and Resources by delivering governance activities that sustain the fulfilment of our statutory duties. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed in delivering the highest standards of governance and providing service excellence to ARB, our committees, and our Board.
The successful Governance Manager will be responsible for making sure that robust and proportionate corporate governance processes are implemented and adhered to and will be the ARB’s nominated Data Protection Officer. You will provide high quality secretariat support and governance advice to both the Executive and Board; you will provide quality assurance for Board and Committee papers; in conjunction with the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Group, you will be managing pre and post Board events, training, and strategy days. You will be supporting the recruitment and on-boarding of Board and Committee members and manage the annual review process. You will have experience of working in a corporate governance capacity, demonstrating an excellent understanding of this field. You will have proven policy development skills, along with exceptional communication skills with an ability to deliver professional yet complex and challenging messages at a senior organisational level.
In return, we offer 27 days’ holiday per year, generous pension arrangements and a comprehensive benefits package. This post is based in our central London office, however ARB supports flexible working and will be reviewing our office working arrangements, post Covid-19 in due course.
The closing date for this opportunity is 11:00am Monday 21 June 2021. We will contact you once short-listing has been completed to advise you of the outcome of your application.
We anticipate interviews will be held on 7 July 2021, depending on government restrictions this will be at ARB’s offices in central London.
No agencies please.
ARB is committed to equal opportunities and values diversity in its workforce. We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds. ARB is proud to be a Real Living Wage Employer.
