ARB is in the process of delivering an ambitious five-year Corporate Strategy 2022-2026 which sets our vision and programme of work to modernise and improve regulation of Architects. The successful candidate will champion ARB’s vision to deliver improvements and tangible outcomes in each of our core statutory functions and deliver meaningful and positive change in our strategic priorities.
The Lay Board members will be appointed by the Privy Council. The recruitment process is administered by ARB’s sponsoring Government department, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). Interested candidates must apply via the Government’s Public Appointment’s website here.
ARB’s Board is composed of one independent, non-executive Chair and ten non-executive Board members, including five architects and five lay members. ARB’s Board members must adhere to the Code of Practice consistent with the Cabinet Office Code of Conduct. A strong commitment to good governance, upholding the recognised principles of public life, and a commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are essential criteria for candidates.
We encourage applications from a wide range of backgrounds across the UK to participate in public life by being members of the Boards of public bodies, making decisions that develop, shape or deliver government policy and public services. ARB is committed to fostering a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion in our own organisation and taking action to ensure change occurs in architecture.
ARB will be hosting an online information session on 9 December (12pm) and 12 December (12pm) for those interested in the position. Please contact governance@arb.org.uk if you are interested in booking your place for one of the sessions.
